What it is
The Activity page is your practice's ledger. Two tabs: Overview (streaks, milestones, and totals) and Monthly (the Monthly Artifacts gallery).
Why it matters
Every journaler quietly wonders whether the practice is going anywhere. Numbers don't answer that fully — but honest ones help: the streak you're on, the biggest day you've ever written, how many words a year of mornings actually adds up to.
What Overview shows
- Current streak — consecutive days (by Date Written) with at least one page. A streak is alive if you wrote today or yesterday.
- Milestones — personal records: your longest-ever streak, your biggest writing day by words, your longest Timeline, and more as your archive earns them.
- This year — pages, words, and writing days year-to-date.
- All time — lifetime pages, words, writing days, notebooks, and Timelines.
The heatmap card on the dashboard is the ambient version: the current month as a grid of squares, greener with each ~200/350/500-word day, today ringed. Tap it for the calendar.
Tips
- Everything follows Date Written, so late uploads with the right date keep your record truthful — the streak tracks when you wrote, not when you photographed.
- The word counts come from your transcriptions, so fixing transcription errors also makes your statistics more accurate.
Current limitations
- Statistics count only what's been uploaded — the notebooks still on your shelf don't exist to SandDune yet.
- No goal-setting or reminders. The page is a mirror by design; SandDune doesn't nag.
