A Timeline is a question you keep asking. "How is my relationship with running going?" "What's my thinking on moving abroad?" "How am I doing as a parent?" Each time you ask, SandDune reads your notes fresh and adds the answer as a dated node on a vertical thread. Months later, the thread shows you — with receipts — how your thinking actually moved.
Two ways to start one
From scratch:
- On the dashboard, tap the Timelines card, then + New Timeline.
- Write your question — make it something worth re-asking, not a one-off lookup.
- The first answer generates as you watch (planning, gathering pages, writing, titling). This uses one Ask from your monthly allowance.
From an Ask answer: after any Ask settles, tap Save as Timeline. The answer becomes the first node — at no extra cost. If you were asking inside a notebook, the Timeline keeps that scope for all its future nodes.
Reading a Timeline
Nodes alternate down a central thread, oldest at the top, and the view opens at the newest. Each node shows a short title — tap to expand the full cited answer. Citations link to your pages, same as Ask.
Growing it
Come back whenever you've written more, and tap + New Node (one Ask per node). Here's the part we care about most: each node re-reads your notes fresh — it never looks at its own previous answers. The differences between nodes reflect your life, not the AI echoing itself.
You can edit a node's title or answer (it gets an "edited" mark), delete a node, or delete the whole Timeline (your notes are never touched — a Timeline is a view over them, not a container).
