Your notes are the most private documents you own, and we treat them that way. This page is the plain-language summary; the Privacy Policy is the complete, binding version — and we work to keep the two saying exactly the same thing.
The commitments
- Private by default, always. There is no public mode, no social feed, no discovery. Nobody sees your notes but you.
- Never used to train AI. Not by us, and not by the AI providers we work with — our agreements with them prohibit it. Your words improve your archive, not anyone's model. (More in How AI processes your notes.)
- Yours to take. Export everything, anytime, from Settings (Export your data).
- Deleted means deleted. Ask us to delete your account and your data goes with it (Delete your account).
- No ads, ever. Advertising against journal content would be a betrayal of the whole idea; it isn't and won't be our business model. We make money one way: subscriptions.
What we store
Roughly what you'd expect and nothing sneaky: your account details (name, email), your note photos and transcriptions (with your edits), your notebooks, Timelines and their answers, your questions and the answers you received, feedback ratings you give, records of AI processing runs kept for quality evaluation, writing statistics, and subscription information. The full itemized list is in Privacy Policy §1.
What we deliberately don't do
- We don't read your notes. Our product analytics see that features get used ("a note was starred"), never note content.
- We don't sell or share your data.
- We don't store your payment details — our payment processor handles those; we keep only what subscription management requires.
